Renegade Balloons is passionate about the sport of hot air ballooning. Their pilot, Mike Wadley, holds an FAA certified Commercial LTA rating and has been flying balloons for over 25 years. He is a second generation balloon pilot and his family has a collective 1,200 hours of flight time in hot air balloons. Mike is currently the president of the Gateway Aerostatic Association, the premier ballooning organization in St. Louis, and an active member of the Balloon Federation of America. He has flown in Austria and several states in the US, and routinely participates in balloon events throughout the country, including the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Mike has a perfect safety record, attends annual safety and continuing education seminars, and has provided flight and ground instruction to several pilots.
Their aircraft was manufactured by Lindstrand Balloons in Illinois and is inspected annually by an FAA certified repair station. Renegade Balloons serves the St. Charles and St. Louis, Missouri area and offers hot air balloon passenger flights, tethers, corporate sponsorship, and event promotion.
